Episode 00: Introductions

Tony Godwin & Brandon Poor

In this and all future episodes, we will do our utmost - from beginning to end - to take audiences behind the curtain, exploring both serious gravity and significant progress, in a criminal arena of which many are unaware even exists (or might prefer to believe it doesn’t); a dark, depraved, and desolate category of crime that is among the worst of worst; a realm in which we’ve been called to operate, day in and day out, for the sake of the most innocent and vulnerable members of humanity.

We have had the sincere privilege to serve in this capacity, developing a skill set that has been executed successfully on a myriad of complex criminal investigations - efforts that have resulted in hundreds of years of cumulative prison time for offenders convicted of child exploitation in both state and federal courts. We have also had the tremendous honor to share our collective experiences on national and international stages, providing various trainings, hosting seminars, and speaking at conferences to impart what we’ve learned to up-and-coming law enforcement agents and legal professionals, hoping that others might benefit from both our failures and successes.

We are passionate about this job. With careful discretion as well as honest disclosure, we intend to share with you the numerous real-life criminal case studies in which we have personally participated, providing real examples, real scenarios, with real victims, and the pitfalls that have led to very real, preventable situations. Our endgame with this broadcast is threefold: (1) We hope to raise awareness to issues that are paramount to anyone navigating the World Wide Web; (2) we hope to educate our audiences about the dangers (many of which are hidden, even from tech-savvy adults adept at app management) that exist on a wide variety of digital platforms particularly popular with younger users; and (3) we hope to provide you with practical wisdom regarding prevention and response, should something like this impact you, your child, or your family in the future. In short, we hope that by walking you through real stories about corrupt individuals with a propensity for child exploitation, we provoke a healthy awareness that alarms, educates, and gives a compelling perspective that keeps you listening, and furthers these efforts to dismantle a realm of truly deplorable, unlawful activity.

We hope you walk away from each episode sobered, informed, enlightened, and encouraged as we do our best to help bring child exploitation on a global scale to a screeching halt.
